Collaborative work furniture and conference room furniture

Are you taking on a commercial interior design project? You’re not alone. There’s a high demand for high-tech co-work space and meeting centers in 2014 office furniture designs. From renovated buildings to new building designs, you can take advantage of a co-work space environment.

Co-work spaces are growing in popularity because the commercial interior designs are revitalizing urban areas.

The standard co-work space interior design can feature hospitality furniture, collaborative corporate furniture, and innovative conference room furniture. The purpose of co-work furniture is to foster better relationships at the workplace.

Shared space can even increase work productivity at high tech startup companies, hotels, educational institutions, and government facilities.

Co-work spaces can be as diverse as you would like your work environment to be. You can have floors at your company solely for private offices and have another floor furnished with teamwork stations and other collaborative furniture items. If you want to get really creative, you can have office furniture placed on a rooftop deck for casual co-work meetings.

Co-work corporate furniture is designed to perfectly store high definition computer monitors and office filing.

Here are some good reasons you should have a co-work space for your commercial interior design:

1. You can offer your employees and entrepreneurs community and solo work spaces simultaneously.

2. Co-work space can be used for both work productivity and if you need a  break.

3. Great way to start up conversations with potential clients. Great connections help find great business leads.

4. You will have an effective office setup by utilizing corporate furniture items like co-work desk chairs. Desk chairs have excellent ergonomics ( great back support and mobility features). Not to mention desk chairs offer plenty of desk space for team meetings, computer equipment and other work essentials.

5. Co-work space corporate furniture can increase your professional business credibility by having readily available conference room furniture and equipment such as projectors.

Have a look at our co-work space corporate furniture today to get started on your co-work space commercial interior design.

How to revamp your Office Reception Area

Monday, September 23rd, 2013

reception area designs

Is your office reception area looking a bit rundown? Is the hideous office design scaring away your clients?

Then it’s time to revamp your office reception area.

An office reception area is the first impression your clients have about your business services and level of professionalism.

When clients walk into your business, you want them to have positive vibes about your business brand.

You can create these positive vibes with great office furniture and a stylish interior design.

But where do you start?

First, decide on your color theme. You can start to brainstorm about the colors you will use for the reception area based on popular color themes used in your industry. Tie those color themes with your business brand colors and you will have a unique design. When in doubt, go for neutral colors such as gray, cream and blue. Neutral colors will help you create an illusion of a more spacious reception area because light reflects off of neutral colors.

If you prefer a more modern look, go for brighter colors rather than dark colors.

Remember, your color theme should be warm and inviting to your clients as well as your staff of employees.

Next, you should create a list of furniture items that will increase your work productivity while enhancing the comfort of clients and employees alike. People return to environments that make them feel good.

Here is a list of essential reception area furniture items:

  • The reception desk. The best reception desks have curved countertops to give receptionists a great overview of the office space and help clients easily place documents on the desks without taking up space for your staff of receptionists. Your staff can also assist more than one client at a time with such a design. The most popular reception desks for modern office spaces are rectangular office desks and L-shaped desks.

  • Reception area seating. When it comes to seating in the reception area, you should furnish the office with ergonomic chairs and sofas that maximize space and comfort. It is important that clients have plenty of space between each other to prevent aggravation during long waiting periods. The best reception lounge chairs are those that feature cushioned seating and offer plenty of back support.

  • File Cabinets /Storage furniture items. Receptionists can never have enough storage because filing is part of their daily work routine. Purchase vertical and horizontal filing cabinets to make the most of your storage area. When your staff has the appropriate storage, you can de-clutter your office and make it more welcoming to your clients. If the receptionist area is well organized, clients will get the impression that your business services will keep their private matters in order. Edwards & Hill Office Furniture recommends storage for magazines as well as brochures for those visiting your office.

You can count on Edwards & Hill Office Furniture to be the best interior designer for your business. We specialize in interior design. Let us improve the look of your office through quality furniture and an effective office plan layout today.

Conference Room Design Projects: What do you need?

Monday, June 24th, 2013

Is your conference room in need of an extreme makeover?

Edwards & Hill Office Furniture is here to style up your conference room from ceiling to floor.

Conference room designs: What do you need to pay attention to?

Setting up a comfortable and highly functional conference room may sound easy, but it can be a challenging interior design project if you have no idea where to start.

The key to completing a great conference room design project is to pay attention to detail.

The most commonly used furniture pieces for conference rooms are:

  • Conference tables

  • Ergonomic Chairs

  • But don’t forget the Audio Visual components

  • Wire Management

For the conference room table, you need to pay attention to the height of the table compared to the height of chairs placed around the table. Clients and employees should never feel like they are squeezing their legs underneath the table. They should have plenty of room to move their legs up and down, as well as extend their legs forward or to the side without bumping into the legs of others.

Next, it is important for the conference room to be painted a neutral color to create a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. This is especially important for videoconference rooms because dark or bright walls force those trying to view presentations to strain their eyes.

Nonetheless, you should utilize the space and furniture of your conference room to make a positive statement about your company’s business practices and operations. For the best decorative results, your conference room interior design should give off a unified look.

You can pull this off with the following interior design tactics:

  • Furnish the conference room with leather ergonomic chairs. Leather furniture can let clients know that your company is serious about business when it comes to communicating sophistication and quality products/ services.

  • Purchase modern furniture. This will let your business partners and clients know that you’re a highly innovative company that’s up on the latest in your industry while still maintaining an upbeat, energetic work atmosphere.

  • Add in your company’s personality. It is a great idea to have your company photos and awards on display for business partners and clients to give off good vibes about your company and its positive impact on the community.

  • Plan the conference room design/ theme around your selected conference room table. This is a great design strategy because the conference table is always the centerpiece and all other furniture items can be compared to how well they flow naturally with the table.

Conference room tables commonly come in the form of a rectangular shape or a similar shape like boat shaped. The conference table you select for your business will all depend on how intimate you want the space to be for business partners and clients.

If you have a large room, we recommend purchasing a rectangular conference table rather than a round table because small conference tables look awkward in large conference rooms. Edwards & Hill Office Furniture can assist you in selecting a conference table that’s proportionate to your conference room design.

Consider a round conference table when you have a small to regular sized conference room. The round tables are perfect for businesses that prefer collaborative work because the shape of the table promotes closeness.

We have an excellent selection of modular conference tables and other essential conference room accessories – white boards, projection screens, and serving credenzas.

Edwards & Hill Office Furniture guarantees economic, durable conference room furniture and installation services for all types of industries. Place your order today.

Bed And Breakfast Inns: What are the Best Hospitality Furniture Items?

Monday, June 3rd, 2013

Starting a prosperous Bed & Breakfast business is never easy but with the right interior design and amenities, you can offer guests everything they want and more.

Most guests decide to stay and return to bed & breakfast inns based on appearance and the “at home” feeling.

It is crucial to your business success to give guests a good first impression so that they will make reservations time and time again.

Edwards & Hill Office Furniture is here to design a warm and inviting bed & breakfast for you.

The walls and hospitality furniture should be warm colors.

Open space layouts should be avoided to give guests a reason to explore your bed & breakfast in and out. You can accomplish this feel of exploration with captivating wall paintings, luxurious lounging areas and vibrant drapes/curtains.

These elements will give the bed & breakfast a soft feel that helps guests feel right at home. More importantly choosing a theme for your bed & breakfast will help you to create a better flow with the design and hospitality furniture pieces.

Ideally, guests want bed & breakfast inns to feel like home. The bed & breakfast inn should be known as a quiet retreat for guests.

Here are great hospitality furniture items you can purchase for your bed & breakfast inn:

-Victorian Style Furniture

-Cottage Style Furniture

-Wicker Chairs/ Seating for porches and bedroom balconies

-Victorian Style Dining Chairs

-Four Poster Beds

-Bedside lamps

What should be inside the guest rooms?

The guest rooms should be furnished with antique or classic furniture – beds, dressers, desks and chairs should have a timeless feel rather than a trendy feel.

Remember, bed & breakfast designs are all about maintaining visual balance that never goes out of style.

For the bedding, place accent pillows on top of crisp, clean linens. The better sleep your guests enjoy at your bed & breakfast, the more memorable and reputable your inn will become.

There should be absolutely no clutter in the guest rooms. Bedside tables are a must for de-cluttering and give guests the impression of having a spacious guest room. Ergonomic seating is also a must for guests to lounge in the comfort of their private rooms.

Warm. Inviting. Thoughtful.

Have a look at Edwards & Hill Office Furniture’s hospitality furniture to see what we can do for your interior space.

SBA Business Course moves Edwards & Hill Office Furniture Forward

Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has helped Baltimore entrepreneurs bring their businesses to the next level with the SBA’s education program for entrepreneurs.

The SBA’s education program is known as the Emerging Leaders program.

The Emerging Leaders program is a 7th month course where entrepreneurs learn about business skills that help grow their company.

The Emerging Leaders program started in 2008 and Baltimore was one of the very first cities to launch the Emerging Leaders program.

The SBA’s Emerging Leaders program has helped over 1,300 entrepreneurs nationwide successfully with business development through experienced mentorship and small business CEO fellowships. The main objective of the Emerging Leaders program is to equip small business CEOs with skill sets that help them expand their companies as a whole and hire more highly skilled workers.

Here are some of the skills the SBA’s Emerging Leaders program hone on for entrepreneurs:

  • How to develop a business plan

  • How to find business financing resources

  • How to perfect the elevator pitch

  • And How to hire, train, and retain employees.

Tony Hill of Edwards & Hill Office Furniture graduated from the Emerging Leader program in 2011.

Since participating in the SBA’s Emerging Leaders Program, Edwards & Hill Office Furniture has experienced a large increase in the company’s revenue.

Two big projects Edwards & Hill Office Furniture has been involved with in the last year include providing Maryland Live casino and The University Of Maryland Medical System.

In 2012 Edwards & Hill Office Furniture doubled its revenue to $4.2 million dollars. In 2013, the company is now on track to make between $6 million to 7 million by years end.

Edwards & Hill Office Furniture is planning to expand the business into Connecticut and Florida.

What has Tony Hill learned from participating in the Emerging Leaders program?

Tony has learned how to effectively delegate work duties to his 10 employees. He has learned how to select the right people to be in the places because he understands that he and his business partner, Hans Edwards can’t do everything on their own.

Although there is no direct formula to becoming a successful entrepreneur, one of the best ways to become a successful entrepreneur is to learn about the triumphs and failures of successful entrepreneurs.

What decisions did they make that made them unique from their competitors?

To start on the road to success as an entrepreneur, you should be passionate about what you set out to do. When you’re passionate about your goals, you put your best efforts forward to succeed.

Find value in taking small steps toward your business goals. When you’re trying something new, you’re always taking a risk. You’ll make fewer mistakes pursuing your business goals when you don’t make important decisions on a whim.

Always take out time to reflect on what you have learned about your industry market to identify what you need to do to progress.

When you learn something valuable, there’s always an opportunity to take another step to reaching your entrepreneurial goals.

Find what you truly want to do with your business ventures and success will follow if you act, learn, and build from your failures and achievements.

Cafeteria Furniture: How To Improve Cafeteria Traffic Flow And Socializing

Monday, April 29th, 2013

Arranging students in a cafeteria can be a pleasant social environment or a full out nightmare. With the right traffic flow and cafeteria furniture, you can promote good behavior in students and provide them a fun, comfortable lunchroom experience.

When students and visitors to the school step in the cafeteria, you want the lunchroom to look impressive and make socializing easier.

Good traffic flow and quality cafeteria furnishing should be top priority in cafeteria design.

To improve traffic flow, make sure that lunch lines are carefully planned out from classroom to cafeteria. This will help students spend less time in the cafeteria line and they can be seated quicker.

It is best to seat students in order of food giving. Make sure cafeteria tables provide plenty of walkway space between each other to make seating and lunch dismissal as easy as possible.

As for making lunch supervision easy, there should be no cafeteria furniture items obstructing cafeteria vision. This will help with cafeteria noise control because supervisors can teach, enforce, and reinforce all lunchroom rules based on observing student behaviors.

Another cafeteria design must is having vibrant colored furniture and interior design features.

Colorful cafeteria furniture and overall cafeteria design will help students remain energized for afternoon lessons.

Sterile cafeterias only make students feel sluggish after lunchtime.

Furnishing the cafeteria with colorful ergonomic chairs and other ergonomic furniture items will keep students engaged for learning and comfortable during eating.

You should also consider the following cafeteria furnishings and decorations:

  • Wall murals. They are lovely artistic additions to cafeteria settings.

  • Round cafeteria tables are perfect for socializing.

  • Rectangular cafeteria tables make for great serving tables.

Learn more about educational furniture applications and cafeteria furniture items now.
