Opening up the office is not just about getting rid of access walls, it’s also about have a common area—like a café and a lounge—that employees can use for meetings as an alternative to traditional conference room set-up. An open office setting may be a fairly new trend in office design, but it seems to be here to stay.
Take a Stand
In 2015, many Americans hopped on the standing desk bandwagon for it’s long list of promised health benefits. Many have found success, but it takes the right recipe of commitment and know-how to get through a day of the standing desk. In order for the reward to be worth the temporary discomfort, make sure you know how to use a standing desk. One common mistake is that users are just standing all day long, but this is incorrect. Instead, mix it up between standing and sitting. This trend in office furniture certainly has many health benefits, but will it last? Only time will tell.

Whether it’s just less paper being used or a small footprint of one’s office, a trend towards minimalism has boomed in 2015 with office furniture and design. Instead of bulky desktop computers and printers, companies have gone completely paperless whether for the environment’s sake or for the sake of efficiency.
